Syrah

Vintage description

We experienced a normal and mild spring, which assisted the vines during the flowering period and resulted in better bunch setting. Very cold and windy conditions in December, with constant south easterly winds, cooled water temperatures in the surrounding oceans. This resulted in one of our coolest vintages yet. The grapes were hand harvested during middle March. Extended hanging time due to the cool season ensured that all the grapes were picked at full phenolic ripeness

Tasting Notes

  • A full-bodied wine with cloves, cracked black pepper and spicy aromas.
  • Layered with intense black berry fruit flavours.
  • A rich palate with firm tannins, backed by well integrated oak.
  • A serious Shiraz.
  • Enjoy with dishes such as roast beef, duck and venison.
