Discover the bold character of the southern tip with our Stormkus Syrah 2021, a truly unique expression from Strandveld Vineyards. Its name doesn’t just honour the stormy coast of Cape Agulhas – it can also be translated as “Storm Kiss”, a nod to the gentle yet powerful influence of the ocean breeze on our grapes.

Born from a one-barrel experiment in Serbian oak and carefully matured for two years, this Syrah was then blended with a touch of Syrah from a third-fill French oak barrel. The result is a wine shaped by contrast: structured, bold tannins from new oak balanced with elegance and finesse.

Tasting Notes:
Deep garnet in colour, Stormkus offers aromas of ripe blackberries, plums, and a subtle smokiness. The palate is rich and layered, with bold tannins, hints of spice, and a lingering, sophisticated finish.

Food Pairing:
Perfect with grilled lamb, braised meats, or rich mushroom dishes. Also exceptional with dark chocolate desserts for a daring contrast.
