Few grape varieties reflect their chosen terroir as purely as Pinot Noir — a grape that demands precision, patience, and passion. After years of careful observation across our vineyard blocks, we discovered a new treasure among our vines. Grown on a southeast-facing slope of white quartzite gravel with a calcareous clay layer beneath, this site reveals the perfect harmony between slope, soil, and clone.
Specially selected grapes from 22-year-old vines (clones PN459 and PN777) were whole-berry crushed into open fermenters. Following a brief period of skin contact, fermentation took place between 23–28°C with twice-daily punch-downs, before extended maceration for added depth and structure. The wine matured for 11 months in a single 500L French oak barrel before bottling on 8 October 2024. Only 700 bottles were produced, making this an exceptionally rare release.
A dark garnet Pinot Noir offering seductive aromas of red cherry, mulberry, and raspberry, layered with hints of wet slate and a subtle salty minerality. The palate is full-bodied and refined, with earthy undertones, dark chocolate, and mushroom notes leading to a long, layered finish. Elegant, structured, and deeply expressive of its Cape Agulhas origin.
Food pairing: Ideal with mushroom dishes, duck, salmon, roast chicken, or game carpaccio.
Serving: Best served slightly cooled at ±12–13°C.
Cellaring: Enjoy now or cellar until 2035.
Production: Limited to 700 bottles.
