Strandveld Vineyards initiated a project to support education in the local community.
Each year Strandveld Vineyards plans to produce a special wine, Little Friends, in conjunction with children from the surrounding under-privileged communities and will donate 50% of the sales profits back to the school who assisted with the production of the wine.
In March 2017, twenty Grade 4 learners from the Elim Primary School joined the Strandveld Vineyards team for a fun and educational day at the winery hand harvesting and foot stomping the grapes which created one 300 litre barrel of Syrah.
The label design for the 2017 Little Friends Syrah was given to the children so that they could show their creative side. The best six designs adorn one of each of the six bottles in every case of Little Friends Syrah 2017.
How can you help?
By purchasing a case of the Little Friends wine you will be contributing directly to the education of these bright, young children.
The funds raised from this project will be used to fund an additional teacher for the school as well as to make much needed upgrades to the buildings and facilities and, even more importantly, to give these young people a better sense of their worth by showing them how their efforts have borne fruit that make their daily lives better.
Please help us to reach our fundraising goal of R100 000 to support our little friends at Elim Primêr as they go in the 2020 school year.
Only 66 cases of this very special wine were produced and are available for purchase at R2100 per case. Please contact orders@strandveld.co.za if you would like to place an order. It is a rare opportunity to own a wine that is both scarce and individualistic while at the same time supporting a vital initiative.
Sales of this special wine will go part of the way towards reaching our goal of raising R100 000 for Elim Primêr but to achieve the target we really need your help. By making an online donation you can help us reach the target. We would like to raise as much as we can for Elim Primary and you can make a donation online at https://www.backabuddy.co.za/little-friends
