South African Shiraz producers are celebrating National Shiraz Day on Saturday 21 August followed by a week long festival of Shiraz and Venison.
Winter is not only the season for red wine but also the time when exotic meat varieties such as Springbok, Zebra, Kudu etc find their way onto the table and Shiraz is without a doubt the drink for the occasion. It is a known fact that Shiraz, with its sweet and spicy nuances shares a unique flavour bond with South African game meat, creating a unique tasting experience.
Programs vary from feasts of Shiraz and game to winemaker-led tastings of rare vintages, quick and simple pairings for fast visits, savoury and sweet culinary innovations and much more.
